This winter I have found myself doing a lot more skiing than I have in many years. Before I had kids I could get a decent ski workout in an hour - 15 minutes getting ready and 45 minutes skiing. With little kids its more like the reverse. Spend 45 minutes getting ready and ski for 15 minutes (or less sometimes). What changed this year is my 9 y.o. wanted to learn how to skate ski.

New bike bridge on Lexington

I have been watching the progress on the Lexington Ave bike bridge that spans the railroad tracks/Energy Park Drive. I was hoping they would finish the project before winter. Last night I was excited to take the bridge for the first time. It is nice to see the city providing safe transportation options for those of us trying to get around without using a car.

A little dose of nature...

I sometimes finding myself in need of a little dose of nature. Don't get me wrong, I love living in the city. When my wife and I were house hunting we made sure that we would end up in the heart of St. Paul to take advantage of all the urban splendor it offers. But more often than not I feel like I was made to live in a hut in the woods.

Put my studded tires on. My commute requires I be on my bike during the coldest part of the day, which on Monday and Tuesday mornings is forcast to be 21 degrees. Too bad they'll be useless for over a week after...
